The 10th German-Tunisian Energy Day

The Geen decade – The Road to 2030

The 10th German-Tunisian Energy Day took place on November 11, 2021, in Tunis, in a semi-virtual format. This edition was held under the patronage of H.E. Neila Nouira Gongi, Minister of Industry, Mines, and Energy. The annual conference focused on the developments needed during this decade to achieve the energy transition target set for 2030.

The energy transition relies on developing sustainable solutions while ensuring a reliable and cost-effective energy system. Various projects, mechanisms, and programs have already been implemented in Germany and Tunisia, with others in development to further promote the energy transition in the coming years. In this context, the 10th German-Tunisian Energy Day aimed to foster exchanges between the two countries.

The event featured two sessions. The first session centered on strategic developments in the energy sector in Germany and Tunisia, with officials sharing their perspectives. The second session focused on the transformation within the industrial sector, highlighting experiences and best practices from international and national experts. Presentations and testimonies enriched the discussions.

The German-Tunisian Energy Partnership continues to serve as a high-level platform for dialogue between the Tunisian and German governments. Mandated by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy (BMWi) and based at the Tunisian Ministry of Industry, Mines, and Energy, the Secretariat of the Tunisian-German Energy Partnership supports both governments in implementing the partnership. Since its inception in 2012, the Secretariat has organized several ministerial meetings and established the German-Tunisian Energy Day as a key annual conference in Tunis.
