Efficiency first: Energy Efficiency for a Sustainable Society

The Secretariat of the German-Tunisian Energy Partnership, implemented by GIZ, organized on Thursday 29 November 2018 the 8th German-Tunisian Energy Day with the following theme: "Efficiency first: Energy Efficiency for a sustainable society".

“Efficiency first – energy efficiency for a sustainable society”

This was the topic of the 8th Tunisian-German Energy Day which took place on Thursday, November 29 at the Sheraton Hotel in Tunis. More than 300 participants joined us on that day and have thereby shown the importance of energy efficiency for Tunisia and Germany.

Vivid discussions took place between state representatives and experts from the private sector and civil society of both countries, predominantly around Tunisian and German national energy efficiency strategies and their implementation. The numerous and relevant interventions from the very engaged audience bear witness of the wide interest that this event sparked.

This enthusiasm made this event a great success by facilitating the German-Tunisian exchange for a fruitful cooperation in the field of energy efficiency. It was also a good basis for discussion of the working groups of the Energy Partnership who gathered the following day, on November 30, to define the next steps for the cooperation.

The Energy Day was organized by the Secretariat of the German-Tunisian Energy Partnership, implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), on behalf of the Tunisian Ministry of Industry and SMEs, and the German Federal Ministry of Economy and Energy (BMWi)
