Roundtable on the financing mechanisms for self-consumption photovoltaic projects

After numerous consultations with the private sector in Tunisia, several topics have been identified as obstacles to the development of renewable energies. This includes the uncertainties around financing mechanisms, a crucial element for project developers. In order to overcome this uncertainty, the Secretariat of the German-Tunisian Energy Partnership has organized a round table with the participation of the National Agency for Energy Management (ANME) and in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Tunis Industry (CCIT). The event took place on friday 16th November 2018 in Tunis.

This roundtable brought together several German and Tunisian companies as well as banks and leasing institutions to present recent developments in project financing, exchange experiences and good practices in terms of compliance with eligibility criteria, acquire more experience in and get familiar with the implementation of sustainable energy policies and gather input from stakeholders in the field. It was also an opportunity to present the pilot scheme for the financing of photovoltaic projects.
